Holistic psychology practice in the West of Melbourne
1.
Awareness and Awakening
Awareness is a superpower.

Nobody ever thinks that they are lacking awareness. The opposite of awareness is living in auto-pilot...
2.
Move Towards Discomfort
Since you were an infant, you likely learned to avoid or distract yourself away from unpleasant or uncomfortable feelings or body sensations. While this may have worked in the short-term,
Act with Compassion
3.
Cultivating compassion for yourself, others and the world around you, I believe, is one of the most important steps in achieving improved mental and emotional health.
4.
Repeat
Once your brain has developed new neural pathways to thought and behaviour patterns that are more helpful, daily life becomes easier... but you still need to practice.
Therapeutic Services
Interventions are predominantly drawn from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) frameworks. Principles from Interpersonal Neurobiology, in addition to having an in-depth understanding of early development and attachment needs are also important elements that your psychologist is aware of when working with you. All interventions are trauma-informed.

Most importantly, at the forefront of your psychologists' work is appreciating and honouring the essence that we are all human beings that can't be reduced to anything less of all that we are.
