Georgina Psomiadis, Clinical Psychologist (on maternity leave from August 2024)
Hello! If you have landed here, just know that you are already doing the work. The awareness that something is no longer working for you is there. Now to find the right person to help you along this incredible path towards feeling more whole and at peace. Here is a little about me so you get an idea of who you will be walking this path with you.
Let's get the official study and qualifications out of the way. I completed the Bachelor of Science (Psychology & Psychophysiology) from 2006 until 2009 at Swinburne University. There was also one year of industry based learning in that timeframe where I worked in a respiratory lab at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for one year full time. Following that I continued employment there as a Sleep technician for the remainder of my studies. I won't ever forget those night shifts! Then I completed the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology at The University of Melbourne in 2010. This was a scholarship because that's how serious I was in my undergraduate years. All study and no play... and it really showed. Burnout would be an understatement. From 2011 until 2012 I completed the Master of Clinical Psychology at the Australian Catholic University. This was where the magic happened. This is where I was introduced to mindfulness based therapies, I started 'the work' myself and uncovered a whole lot of other holistic therapies to help me back to equilibrium. After all of that, I am now registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold an AHPRA Area of Practice Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. I've also completed training to be recognised as a Board Approved Supervisor. I have also completed 50 hours of Yin Yoga training, which offers some incredible somatic emotional releases.

What you won't see on paper is that I continue to live and breathe all that I have learned and continue to learn. I don't think I'm 'passionate' about this work, it's just a way of being. This is the work that I'm meant to do. There are several approaches to this work, and I resonate most with Dr Gordon Neufeld's approach, which is focused on the core aspects of what it means to be a human being. By having a deep understanding of human development and what we all need to develop well... as well as the things that stunt our inevitable development which 'traps' emotion in the body, we can learn ways to free that stuck emotion so we can live in peace.

I work with adults and teens. I won't list the various diagnoses because I do not work within that model but if you are struggling with something, I would be honoured to be a part of this experience with you. I used to work with children directly but I don't do that anymore. The true power lies with the parents so if you have a child who you are concerned about, I'm more than happy to work with you, as you are the answer for your child.

Finally, what I love more than this work are my two young boys and husband. So most of my time is currently dedicated to them, which means I'm playing a whole lot! I truly look forward to meeting with you if that is what you decide.

Some information about our psychologists
Jennifer Kay, psychologist
Throughout my academic journey, I completed the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) course at Swinburne University, followed by the Master of Psychology (Clinical) course at ACU. While pursuing my education, I gained experience working across diverse treatment settings, including hospital and university-based psychology and counselling services. It was during this time that I discovered a deep alignment and commitment to this field.
Presently, I am registered as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and engaged in the clinical registrar program.
At the core of my practice is the fundamental aim of providing every individual with a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space to safely explore any difficulties. I value a person-centred therapeutic approach that is gentle, attuned and focused on nurturing the resilience of each individual. I enjoy working collaboratively and creatively with individuals in an environment oriented toward empowerment and healing.
My practice framework is informed by a range of evidence-based treatments tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I utilise an integrative approach drawing primarily from therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
During my spare time I enjoy reading, curling up with my cat and unwinding on my shakti mat!
