Making an appointment:

You can book by emailing admin@theconsciousplace.net outlining a brief reason to engage with psychological treatment. You will recieve a response within 48 hours via email or phone to identify whether your concerns are within Georgina's scope of knowledge and treatment skills.

Alternatively, you can contact the reception team at Guardian Medical on (03) 9395 6333.

If it is deemed that another psychologist or service will be more appropriate, alternatives will be recommended.

Pricing and Medicare Rebates (Updated January 2024):

​

Fees are charged to private clients as per the following discounted rates. These fees are significantly below those recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), which are currently set at $300. These fees cover your session time, brief additional phone consultations, referral calls, consultation with referring doctors and other health professionals. Treatment services do not attract GST. 

 

Fees for a standard 50 minute session are:

 

Standard consultation with a registered psychologist: $200

Standard consultation with the practice owner, clinical psychologist: $235

Rebates

​

A medicare rebate is available on eligible sessions for clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). This rebate is currently at $93.35 when seeing a psychologist and $137.05 when seeing a clinical psychologist.

Clients are eligible to receive a medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (including Telehealth sessions) under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).

Clients wishing to utilise the Medicare rebate need to have a MHTP and be referred by a GP or Psychiatrist. Alternatively, if you have private health insurance you may be able to access a rebate through your fund. Please check with your private health fund to confirm any rebates available to you. You are not able to claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health fund rebate for the same session. 

 

Payment

Payment is required at the end of your consultation. You will be sent a link on your phone that you can then process the payment with your credit card. 

 

If you are eligible for Medicare rebate (by having a valid GP referral), this will also be processed on the day of your appointment.

If your fees are being paid by a third-party, you will be asked to provide details and verification prior your first session.

​

If your condition is currently under consideration for compensation, then you are responsible for payments until such a time as your claim is approved. In most cases, you will then be able to reclaim this amount from the body providing compensation.

Policies:

Cancellation Policy

​

When you book an appointment you are automatically emailed a confirmation. It is your responsibility to check this information is correct. It contains a link to cancel this appointment if it does not suit you and you can reschedule online. 

 

SMS reminders for appointments are sent to clients 2 days (48 hours) prior to their scheduled appointment as a courtesy only. Non-receipt of the SMS cannot be used as a reason for non-attendance.  

 

To ensure that your psychologist provides the highest quality of care to all clients, please provide at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, in which case no cancellation fee is payable. 

 

Cancellation fees are currently set at 50 percent of the scheduled fee if you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, and the full fee is payable if you fail to attend an appointment without prior notice or cancel on the day of the appointment. 

 

This fee must be paid in full prior to the commencement of your next scheduled session. 

 

Your cancellation notice would be much appreciated, as this can enable your psychologist to provide services to other clients who may be in need of an urgent appointment.

Court Policy

 

All clients will receive a detailed court policy prior commencing psychological intervention to review and consent to. A copy of this can be emailed directly to you upon request.
